Characteristics

True American Red Snapper is not often available – mainly due to restrictive management put in place to help populations rebuild.  All that good managment means that this popular fish is currently ranked as a YELLOW or GOOD ALTERNATIVE by Seafood Watch! Keep an eye out for it, when we do get this fish in, you’re going to want to order some and put it on your specials board – it’s delicious!

For Your Menu

True American Red Snapper is a real treat – with a mild, slightly sweet flavor, it cooks up moist and flaky.   A versatile fish; roast it, bake it, grill it, saute it or feature it whole (when sizing is right).

For Your Waitstaff

Again, make sure your customers know what a treat it is to even have this great fish on the menu.   Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to enjoy an American favorite!

For Your Retail Display

If you can order a couple of whole fish, they will make your display really pop (even if you’re also bringing in fillets). Make sure customers understand that this is true American Red Snapper from the Gulf of Mexico – not rockfish which some people call “snapper” or even “red snapper”.
